Anse Boudin Beach

Praslin Island

Anse Boudin is a beautiful beach in Praslin’s northeast corner, with views of Curieuse Island across the ocean. It’s certainly worth a visit for anyone on Praslin, with an excellent combination of activity, and gorgeous landscape. The water is shallow here, especially at low tide, but it gradually deepens away from the beach’s sandy portions.

The beach’s shallow water is ideal for snorkeling and swimming, and the water is even safe for kids to swim and play in. Even though it is shadowed in the evenings due to the sun setting over Anse Lazio over the hill, it is still a lovely spot to relax on the sand and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Is Anse Boudin beach good for snorkelling?

On the opposite side of the road, there is a little juice and cocktail bar with a sign advertising the best snorkeling in Seychelles. This may be a big claim, but we’ve heard of people seeing sea turtles right off the shore here, and if you swim out from the shallow beach, you’ll find a good coral reef. Anyhow, Anse Boudin is one of the best snorkelling locations on Praslin. You can discover a large range of marine life and corals in the more shallow crystal-clear waters along the beach.

The shallow water makes it safe for youngsters, although children should be cautious if they swim further out since the water quickly deepens.

What we like at Anse Boudin Beach

  • Walking, driving, or taking the bus are all viable options. There is parking available, as well as bus stops along the nearby road.
  • Nearby, you’ll find two small shops and a fruit bar (not always open). The nearby restaurant PK’s Pasquière & Gastropub is closed.
  • Large trees provide shade and protection from the sun.
  • Watch local fishermen, when they put their catch from the boat on the beach.
  • Watch locals playing football on Sundays at the beach.

How to get to Anse Boudin?

Take the road from Baie St. Anne to the north, it’s the same direction if you like to get to Anse Lazio. After you have passed the Raffles Resort, the road returns to the coast as you descend the hill from behind Raffles Resort, and Anse Boudin is located alongside the road.

If you’re in a hurry to get to Anse Lazio, you might not think to stop here, but it’s a peaceful, secluded spot with beautiful views and no one else around. There is free parking alongside the road and at the church, just opposite the beach. Travelers staying at the Raffles Resort can reach Anse Boudin in 5 minutes by foot.
