Our Expert’s Highlights
Welcome to the Hotel L’Archipel nestled in a natural amphitheater of mature gardens, with a gently crescent of sand framed by rocky outcroppings. Palms, flowering hibiscus, and bougainvillea trees line the winding roads that lead through the gardens and up the hillside to your room or suite.
This family-run property offers a more personal Seychelles experience than the international chain rivals. There is an easygoing, laid-back ambiance throughout the hotel, as well as plenty of space to unwind.
L’Archipel is a Creole-style hotel tucked away on its own beach in a tranquil setting. This is a boutique hotel that has its own personality. It’s popular with honeymooners and couples because of the private and personal setting, but anyone wishing to enjoy the tranquil island pace of life while exploring Seychelles should choose this charming hotel.
The hotel, which was one of the earliest in Seychelles, has a colonial air to it, with whitewashed paneling and a lot of polished wood. Rooms are located in cottages strewn throughout the hillside, each with a view of the Indian Ocean.
Also known for their excellent cuisine, the two restaurants of l’Archipel serve dishes composed by the chef who has taken courses from a great French chef. Twice a week, you can enjoy a Creole menu.
Rooms & Suites
The accommodations are spread over the grounds and up the hillside in two-story buildings connected by meandering roads planted with hibiscus and bougainvillea. Some are located near the beach, while others are located further up on the hillside, all with views of the ocean. Each of the large rooms has access to a balcony that extends around the building’s front.
Please keep in mind that because the resort is built on a slope, most rooms require several steps to reach and there is no buggy service, thus this hotel may not be suited for individuals who are less mobile.
- 60 m² Superior Room with sea or garden view
- Deluxe room of 60 m² with garden or beach view
- Senior Suite of 65 m² with a sitting area and a bathroom
- Family Suite of 120 m² with a separate living room, a dressing room, 2 bedrooms, and a bathroom
Restaurants & Bars
The restaurants are located in the main building, which has a view of the Indian Ocean and the hilly interior of Praslin in the distance. La Gigolette is on the seafront on the ground floor, while La Feuille d’Or is more formal on the upper floor. Seafood, creole, and international meals are served at the table d’hote and buffet, respectively. Local ingredients and fresh produce are used to create the recipes.
Weekly, a Creole meal with live music and traditional Moutya dancing is provided on the beach. There are other dining alternatives in the two surrounding towns; hotel employees may make a reservation for you, and many local restaurants offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the hotel.
Please notice that in the evenings, gentlemen are requested to wear trousers to the bar and restaurants. The beverages at the bar are usually reasonably priced when compared to other Seychelles hotels, thus there is usually a busy environment in the evenings.
Activities
The infinity pool on the main building’s upper level offers views of the silvery sand beach and gently curving bay. Kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are free to use, and there’s a little reef for snorkeling a short distance offshore. The hotel can arrange snorkeling tours further afield, as well as bicycle rentals to explore the area.
Although there is no spa at the hotel, in-room treatments can be performed upon request.
Although the hotel does not have its own dive shop, it can assist you in arranging dives with local operators.

Location & Map
Hotel L’Archipel is hidden away in a quiet cove in Praslin’s northeast corner, about 25 minutes from the airport at the end of Côte d’Or Beach. The beach features soft white sand that gently falls into the water and is nestled in a secluded harbor with rocky outcrops on both ends, giving it a very private atmosphere.
Despite the hotel’s rural location, it is located between two communities, Baie Ste Anne and Anse Volbert, with restaurants and stores within a 5- to 10-minute drive.

Discover Praslin Island
Praslin is Seychelles’ second-largest island, located 40 kilometers east of Mahé. It was named after Gabriel de Choiseul, Duke of Praslin, who conducted an expedition there in 1768. It was discovered by Lazare Picault in 1744. This island’s original charm will delight nature lovers and vacationers seeking peace and quiet since it is known for its magnificent waters and outrageously gorgeous natural features.
A journey to Praslin involves visiting some of the world’s most magnificent beaches. The iconic beach of Anse Lazio, located in the northwest of the island, features white sand scattered with granite rocks on the edge of the blue sea excellent for swimming and snorkeling.
This island, with its picture-perfect beaches, has a lot to offer! Indeed, the beauty of this island will wow you, whether you come for a relaxing beach vacation or to explore a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
