Indian Ocean Lodge
The charming Indian Ocean Lodge on Praslin Island is a oasis of tranquillity
Our Expert’s Highlights
Welcome to the Indian Ocean Lodge located on the Grand Anse beach, on the fringes of the small community of the same name. Grand Anse is one of the island’s longest beaches on Praslin Island, with shallow flats that stretch all the way out to the reef and water that barely laps at the coast.
All rooms face the sea and are arranged in a warm Seychelles-inspired style with flowery textiles and rough wooden furniture, nestled in a lush tropical garden.
Its central location, on the edge of a huge beach, makes it ideal for people who want to explore this island paradise in complete freedom. This lovely hotel, with its Creole architecture, was renovated in 2010 and will satisfy both families and couples.
The hotel is only 5 minutes from the Praslin airport, 15 minutes from the Baie Ste Anne Jetty, 20 minutes from Cote D’Or beach (a popular diving and island trip destination), and 35 minutes from the world-famous Anse Lazio beach.
Explore Seychelles’ islands… If you decide to alter your mind and visit the neighboring islands of Cousine, Aride, and Curieuse, or the rugged coves of Praslin, simply ask the hotel manager, and he will take care of everything. The picturesque Côte d’Or beach is accessible via a free shuttle service.
The 32 guest rooms are spread out over eight two-story houses with typical Creole architecture and tropical gardens along the beach. The interiors were created to be distinctively Praslin in every manner, with pastel and earth tones, as well as fixtures constructed of native materials such as palm leaves and coconut husks and shells. The white-washed furniture, which was handcrafted by local carpenters, gives the room a relaxing, rustic feel.
The big bathrooms were designed to accommodate our guests’ busy schedules. The double shower allows you to freshen up and wash away the sand from the beach without having to wait for your companion, while clothes-lines guarantee that your wet bathing suits dry quickly.
The rooms have all been intended to readily convert into great family accommodations. Standard rooms are 45m2 and have king-size beds as well as two built-in couches that can easily be transformed into twin beds for youngsters under the age of ten. We provide interconnecting rooms or rooms in which an extra bed can be put for families with older children.
The ocean view rooms are relaxing yet modern and comfortable. All rooms have a large balcony or veranda with a breathtaking view of the ocean, the surrounding islands, and the sunset. The rooms are ideal for families with young children (under 12) who can sleep on the sofa bed or with older children who can sleep in the connecting room.
Each room is equipped with: direct dial telephone – tea and coffee making facilities – hairdryer – mosquito net – safe – smoke detectors – minibar – 1 king-size bed or 2 single beds – bathroom with double shower – daily maid service – air conditioning and ceiling fan – interconnecting rooms – satellite TV – sun loungers.
Restaurants & Bars
Our own Blue Marlin Restaurant has two unique dining areas: within the main structure and out on our covered veranda. Breakfast is offered from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and supper begins at 19:30 a.m., with our a la carte pool bar and bistro open all day.
On request, each of our visitors can also partake in our seafood extravaganza, which includes a scrumptious array of freshly caught fish, lobster, and other seafood. Please give our team at least one day’s notice of your request so that we may make all required arrangements!
BISTRO & POOL BAR
Our pool bar is open all day and serves a variety of bistro favorites such as handmade burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and fresh seafood selections from our a la carte menu.
Before dinner, the bar is open late for you to enjoy a variety of cocktail creations and drink specials, and there may be no better way to whet your appetite than sipping an aperitif while listening to live local music: a variety of bands and singers perform four nights a week in the evenings and during dinner.
A bespoke private dining experience put up on the beach might commemorate a significant occasion – or simply the fact that you are in paradise. Following consultation with our chefs, an amazing dish tailored to your preferences will be created and presented by a specialized server in stunning settings.

How do you know this Hotel?
We are in Seychelles and know all resorts, hotels, and villas! We have visited the resort several times.
Discover Praslin Island
Praslin is Seychelles’ second-largest island, located 40 kilometers east of Mahé. It was named after Gabriel de Choiseul, Duke of Praslin, who conducted an expedition there in 1768. It was discovered by Lazare Picault in 1744. This island’s original charm will delight nature lovers and vacationers seeking peace and quiet since it is known for its magnificent waters and outrageously gorgeous natural features.
A journey to Praslin involves visiting some of the world’s most magnificent beaches. The iconic beach of Anse Lazio, located in the northwest of the island, features white sand scattered with granite rocks on the edge of the blue sea excellent for swimming and snorkeling.
This island, with its picture-perfect beaches, has a lot to offer! Indeed, the beauty of this island will wow you, whether you come for a relaxing beach vacation or to explore a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
