Review: Paradise found at Hilton Labriz in Seychelles

Because of the UAE’s immunization program, no quarantine is required to visit this beautiful island and become a globe traveller once more.
“I, for one, know nothing for sure, yet the sight of the sky makes me fantasize.” I stare up into the limitless, I’m compelled to take Vincent Van Gogh’s words since I, as small as I am at the moment, lack the power to make my own, overwhelmed by the amazing canvas that extends out forever. As I stand staring up from this island in the Indian Ocean, it’s too much to take in. All I can do is avidly suck down as much of this spectacle as I can.

Silhouette Island
A beautiful hill rises from the Indian Ocean only 30 kilometers northwest of Mahé. Silhouette, a granite island of 25 km2, is Seychelles’ best-kept secret. It takes 45 minutes by boat or 15 minutes by helicopter to get there from Mahé. In the Seychelles archipelago, Silhouette not only offers a wonderful excursion, but also a very luxurious accommodation.
The island of Silhouette has a long and illustrious history.
The island of Silhouette was named after the then-Minister of Finance, Etienne de Silhouette, in 1771. Seychelles was French at the time, but it became English in the 19th century. This is how the blend of French and English came about. The Dauban family of France gradually purchased the entire island for farming.
As a result, they grew coconuts, as well as cinnamon, vanilla, and coffee, in the heart of the jungle. The Dauban family mausoleum presently stands in the heart of the estate. The Dauban family left an indelible effect on the island’s history, not just via agricultural prosperity, but also through 100 years of slavery. The Seychelles Development Corporation now owns the island.
In addition, in the village of La Passe, an old planters’ house has been refurbished. The final traces of the past can be seen. Finally, a natural national park protects 93 percent of Silhouette Island. The marine park surrounding the island is similarly protected, providing excellent diving opportunities.
Hiking on the island of Silhouette
It is possible to climb from one side of the island to the other, passing into the interior, making it one of Seychelles’ most picturesque hikes. It takes around half a day, and excellent shoes are required. There are three trails to take from La Passe to explore the forest’s many environments: Grand’Barbe trail: The trail to Grand’Barbe, one of the archipelago’s most important mangrove swamps, is punctuated by glaciers and waterfalls. Mount Cocos Marrons’ peak gives a spectacular view. The high-altitude hygrophilous woodland pours down the hills all around.
Towards Anse Mondon: this trail travels through the forest, which is densely forested with the exceedingly valuable sandalwood and the extremely rare bois-méduse. This plant is the only member of the Medusagynaceae family, reaching up to 8 meters in height. As a result, it is extremely valuable and highly monitored.
To travel from Anse Lascar to Anse Patates, take a coastal walk calmed by rows of coconut trees and the swaying of huge ferns, a subtle mangrove, and a little of primary forest.
Silhouette Island is a great place to learn about nature.
Many animal and plant species can be found on Silhouette Island. Biodiversity is abundant in the national park. There will be many birds, reptiles, and marine species to see. Snorkeling on the island provides opportunities to see a variety of tropical fish and coral.
Snorkeling and diving are popular activities on the island. Take a stroll along the Indian Ocean’s most stunning beaches, where you might even see sea turtles. Also, look up while going through the rainforest to see a swarm of bats clinging to the treetops during the day and become active in the early evening. They are the world’s largest birds, with a wingspan of up to 1.5 metres.
They are frugivorous, though, and prefer ripe breadfruit and mangoes. Finally, Silhouette Island’s natural landscape includes a rocky and volcanic landscape. It has an abundance of fruit trees, including lemon, orange, papaya, mango, banana, and other tropical fruits.
Conclusion
On the beautiful Silhouette Island, the 111-room Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa is a lush, five-star resort. Private villas with huge furnished terraces and private pools in gardens include sleek, modern design, luxury bathrooms with both rainfall showers and soaking tubs, and large furnished terraces.
